Passing away of Mr. Teboho Mofokeng

USSA Volleyball regrets to announce the passing away of Mr. Teboho “Bra Chief” Mofokeng the Vaal University of Technology Volleyball Head Coach. He was one of most eminent volleyball coaches, a mentor, a father figure and a long standing member of USSA Volleyball.

Mr. Mofokeng was instrumental in the development of student volleyball in South Africa. He did not only develop volleyball athletes, but he also ensured that the athletes he developed also became graduates.

In May 2017 Mr. Mofokeng was appointed as the Head Coach of the USSA Volleyball male’s team. He led the USSA Volleyball team to a 3rd place during the 2017 Volleyball South Africa’s IPTs.

He was recently appointed as the Head Coach of the Gauteng Thunder that will be participating at the upcoming South African Volleyball National League.

Bra Chief’s wisdom and advice will be sadly missed by all and by all his colleagues.

Our thoughts go to his family and VUT Volleyball Club at this time. USSA Volleyball EXCO expresses its sincere condolences to his family and all volleyball fraternities.

We urge our member institutions to send messages of condolences to the family and VUT Volleyball Club

Yours in Sport
