USSAWomenUp Campaign - Andiswa Zwelibanzi

Andiswa Zwelibanzi (USSA Canoeing Chairperson) came into the sports industry through an opportunity to work for a local government sport and recreation programme in her high school years. She fell in love with the industry, decided to further her studies in Sports Management and never looked back.

She believes that women are innovative and perfectionists. When given an opportunity to lead they turn things around and make a statement, which gives them an advantage over men.

"We have women in leadership positions in South Africa and in Africa who are setting an example and paving a smooth pathway for us upcoming leaders. Women are proving that they are capable to be in the sports industry", she said.

Working in the industry has taught her to be optimistic, purpose driven, passionate, open minded and to be willing to teach and learn.

Andiswa is driven by the possibilities and opportunities of growth afforded by the sports industry. "We are breaking boundaries every day", she said.
