For her, it was only natural to want to spend the rest of her life in sport and studying towards a sport qualification assured her of that. ’’I think we as individuals bring our own uniqueness, so whether you are male or female, you bring to your differential advantage; your personality. Women have that motherly love touch’’, she said. Melissa believes that there will be an increase in the number of women coming into the sports industry. She thinks that today, women are bolder, more adventurous and explore those careers that their parents and grandparents never thought about. Regarding the things that she’s learnt from the sports industry she said, ’’Meeting new people from different cultures, this opens your eyes, and brings about new ways of doing things. Doing your little bit proudly as a team. This is truly special.’’Melissa is driven by the fact that she is impacting someone’s life, future, and changing lives and putting smiles on peoples faces.
