USSA Award Nominees 2017-2019


University Sport South Africa (USSA) has had a year filled with triumph after coming away with 18 medals at the Summer Universiade among many other successful USSA Championships. As the year comes to a close, USSA has turned its attention to the 25th Celebration.

With the USSA 25th Celebration only four days away, USSA introduces the nominees for the awards ceremony. There will be 5 categories for nomination namely, Best Performing USSA Sports Association 2017/2019, Active Student Serving in NUSA or Nec 2017/2019, Best Performing Sports Administrator/Official 2017/2019, Male Sports Star of the 2017/2019 Season and Female Sports Star of the 2017/2019 Season. Only one nominee per category will be selected as the winner for that category.

Nominees

Best Performing USSA Sports Association: rowing, netball, cricket and body building.

Active Student Serving in NUSA or Nec: Kimara Singh, Gordon Dodge and Philangwezi Zibane.

Best Performing Sports Administrator/Official: Andrew Kock, Sanel Sobahle and Riana Benzenhout.

Male Sports Star of the 2017/2019 Season: Chederick Van Wyk and Milton Kekana.

Female Sports Star of the 2017/2019 Season: Tatjana Schoenmaker, Khanyisa Chawana and Ischke Senekal.

USSA would like to wish the nominees all the best as they head into the awards ceremony. The celebration will be hosted by Nelson Mandela University (NMU) on 12 October 2019. Keep an eye on our website and social media platforms to see who bagged the awards on Saturday night!
